The Rose
The Rose is a magnificent performing arts venue and iconic feature of Downtown Brampton. A vital part of our city, it is a destination for local and world-renowned performers, providing opportunities for audiences from Brampton and beyond to experience a wide range of talent in an extraordinary setting. Architecturally and acoustically sublime, the venue boasts two performance venues for large shows and intimate experiences. The Rose is where Brampton comes to life.

We believe the performing arts are essential. Performing Arts Brampton is proud to present our 2022-2027 Strategic Plan. The first Strategic Plan in our history, and an essential component of our business. It conveys where we are going and how we will get there, and aligns with the City of Brampton’s broader mission, vision, and goals. The next five years promise to be exciting, and our new plan will provide a roadmap to guide us along the way.

History
Recognized as one of the best performing arts venues in Canada, The Rose Brampton was built as part of the revitalization of Brampton’s downtown core to meet the cultural needs of a rapidly growing city. Designed by Page & Steele Architects, construction began with a groundbreaking ceremony on August 13, 2003, and opened to the public in September 2006. Brampton's own Russell Peters was the first act presented on the new Rose Mainstage on September 3, and The Rose was officially opened with a Grand Gala featuring Diana Krall on September 29, 2006. The Rose is a vibrant part of our city, a major economic catalyst, and a place for people to gather, connect, and share. The Rose delivers exceptional experiences to thousands of artists and audience members each year.
Vision
Audiences universally recognize The Rose as one of the best venues in the Canada to experience first-rate performances. Artists recognize The Rose as an exceptional space to perform in. All Bramptonians feel a sense of connection with The Rose and are lifelong advocates for its presence downtown. The Rose’s audience reflects that youth and dynamism of the city that it is in. The Rose’s programming is heralded for its innovation and diversity and it has set the standard for how other municipally-run performing arts centres can operate.

The Rose Presents season runs year-round and features multi-disciplinary productions comprised of theatre, music, dance, comedy, family, and cultural events. The Rose is committed to highlighting homegrown artists, and partnering with local organizations to reflect, foster, and celebrate the community in which it serves. We actively pursue artistically excellent and noteworthy artists, nationally and from around the world. With programming designed to reflect the diversity of Brampton, we aim to entertain and inspire audiences, while providing exceptional experiences for performing artists.
This Is Brampton
THIS IS BRAMPTON provides an open platform for local talent, as well as an opportunity for multi-disciplinary artistic development, at The Rose’s intimate Studio II. Performing Arts Brampton collaborates with local promoters and producers to curate a stellar season of comedy, jazz, hip hop, rock, country, and R & B. Selected for their demonstrated commitment to improving the arts in Brampton, curators include B-Jazzed, off the record, SounDrive Records, Queeriahcity, Bluebird Brampton, Rising Vibes, Crate Clash, HYPE, and Stand-Up Stitches. Featuring the city’s most dynamic artists, musicians, changemakers and trendsetters, Studio II is the beat of Brampton.

Performing Arts Brampton
The Performing Arts Division at the City of Brampton uncovers, develops, and promotes Brampton’s unique cultural identity and creative vibrancy through its pursuit of artistic excellence and deep community engagement. The Division operates four venues in Brampton: The Rose, LBP Theatre, Cyril Clark Theatre, and Garden Square. Learn more.
Land Acknowledgment
For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land, and continue to do so today. Brampton’s performing arts venues are located on the Treaty Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and the traditional territories of the Anishinabek; Wendat; Haudenosaunee; and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples. We also acknowledge that Brampton resides within Treaty 19,referred to as the Ajetance Purchase.
We recognize the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples on this land, and the many First Nations, Metis, Inuit, and other global Indigenous people that call Brampton home. We are grateful to continue telling stories on, and about, this land, and by doing so, honour and respect its first inhabitants. We are committed to implementing responses to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action, and recognize our shared responsibility to address ongoing injustices.
