LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The City of Brampton is located on the traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, Haudenosaunee; and Wendat nations who have called this land home since time immemorial. We acknowledge the agreements made in Treaty 19 - the Ajetance Purchase of 1818 - and are committed to our ongoing role in reconciliation through meaningful action rooted in truth, justice, and respect. We are grateful to the original caretakers of this land who have ensured we are able to work, play, and live in Brampton now and in the future.
THE DOWNIE WENJACK LEGACY SPACE
The Rose Brampton is proud to be a Legacy Space in partnership with the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund (DWF). Legacy Spaces are safe, welcoming places that encourage learning and conversation about the true history of Canada and our shared path toward reconciliation. Our Legacy Space, located on the mezzanine level, showcases moments from past performances by Indigenous artists, along with reading materials and resources that invite reflection and continued learning. As part of our year-round commitment to presenting Indigenous voices on our stages, we proudly host an annual Legacy concert in collaboration with DWF—using the power of live performance to build awareness, foster connection, and inspire reconciliACTION. Learn more and #DoSomething. Visit www.downiewenjack.ca for more information about the fund.
